We all know the importance of training programs for employees in an organization: to expand their knowledge base.
And that’s exactly what the staff of WORLDCONNECT Consultancy Services, Inc. underwent on December 2, 2016, a training and workshop dubbed as Getting to Grips with 5S, which was about workplace organization techniques that can be used to achieve productivity.

The event was held at the head office of WCCSI, which had for its guest Ms. Josie M. Aguilar, Division Chief – Customer Protection of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Albay. Ms. Aguilar delivered a lecture and facilitated activities on administrative areas to ensure that workplace organization standards are being met.

5S – which stands for Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain (and occasionally Safety) – started out in warehouses as a way of ensuring that tools were easy to find, limit the chances of damage to products or people, and improve the flow of work around the shop floor. The idea being that if there is a place for everything, and everything is in its place, significantly less time will be wasted looking for items, which means more of your workforce’s time is productive.
